• Question: Are earthquakes happening all the time?

      yes they are! but the smallest ones are not detectable by humans (but they are by sensitive scientific instruments called seismographs)… There are about 6000 moderate or bigger earthquakes a year in the world and hundreds of thousands of smaller ones…

      The continental plates are always moving and grinding against each other and so i think there will always be earthquakes… at least until the continental plates stop moving which according to geologists they might in a billion years or so!
