Question: if we evolved from monkeys and apes how come there are still some left??

  We didn’t evolve from modern monkeys or apes – all primates (monkeys/chimps/gorillas/humans etc) evolved from common ancestors… the more like the modern ape is to us (eg a chimp) the more recent that common ancetral animal was – but even for chimps we’re talking about 7 million years ago!
  
  So both other apes and us evolved from the same ancestor, but we took different evolutionary paths… so now humans are quite a lot different to the other apes…
