Question: In a petrol engine , the fuel explodes to move the pistons, but how does it explode?
Also, in a diesel engine , how does it compare to a petrol engine?
Colin could answer better than me, but I think what happens is after the air and petrol mix gets sucked into the chamber next to the piston, the spark plug then makes a small electric charge and this is what ignites the petrol.
