• Question: who found out cows could be milked? who squeezed their udders and found out you could drink the liquid that came out of the creatures?

      Whoever it was they were one curious fellow!

      In actual fact any mammal will make milk to feed it’s young. That’s how mammals are defined. Long ago humans managed to breed dairy cows that would make milk all year round instead of just after they have children.

      I’ve often wondered this myself! i don’t think we’ll ever know! what makes ever more extraordinary is that adult humans didn’t used to be able to digest milk – instead we evolved to keep our enzymes that digest milk (specifically lactose) into adulthood!

      Just as amazing is the person who first worked out you could pick wheat, grind it, add yeast, cook it and make delicious bread!!
