Question: do animals have the same deseases as we do? i am diabetic and my guinnea pig died recently and my mum said it was because he became diabetic too.

  Yes you mum might be right there! Animals can get the same kinds of diseases as us, but not the exact same ones. Animals can get flu, cancer, arthritis and diabetes, etc but they are slightly different to human versions.
