      Hi Matlida,

I think i can safely say “No” to your question… My work is basically sitting at a computer working stuff out, so apart from using electricity I don’t harm the environment…. and i don’t have anything to do with animal experimentation!

Hi Matilda, thank you for your question, it’s a really important topic and something I often think about!

The short answer is – yes. Our team burns a lot of fuel when it travels around the world to all the races, which creates lots of CO2 and this is bad for the environment. But we’re all trying to change that. There’s a short article here about how the McLaren team has managed to become ‘carbon neutral’

      http://www.newscientist.com/blogs/onepercent/2011/12/mclaren-f1-team-goes-carbon-ne.html

In the future, Formula 1 technology could be important for reducing pollution from our normal road cars so my job might turn out to be a very good thing for the environment!

      Cheers,

      Colin.
