      Hi Grace,

Yes I’ve definitely thought about being a (medical) doctor! It never occurred to me at school (i didn’t like biology much and was all set on physics & maths) but now that I work with doctors in hospitals every day, I see what an amazing job it is! So I did think about retraining but decided that actually what I do now which helps them do their jobs better is valuable too and I’m probably better at it than i would be at medicine… About 85% of my work is with hospitals, so I spend a lot of time in them. It’s a really interesting experience and can be quite humbling too – I remember going to a meeting once at Great Ormond Street and popping into the loo beforehand where I met a young child (about 8 years old) coming out dragging their drip behind them- I think they were having cancer treatment. It really does make you realise how lucky you are and also really motivates me to my job as well as i can!
