Bacteria take different times to grow depending on what kind of bacteria they are and what temperature they are at. The bacteria that cause tuberculosis take around two weeks to grow properly. The bacteria I use in my research are called staphylococcus aureus and only take a night to grow – we grow them at body temperature as they grow best at that temperature.
