• Question: Im am I student hoping and dreaming to go to space, with the European Space Agency. My one ambition is to be able to go on the space joruney to Mars, do you think we will be able to go to Mars?

      I think if we had the money to we could go tomorrow, there just doesn’t seem to be a great deal of support for the idea of exploring up there when there’s so many problems down here, which is a great shame. I really hope to see someone set foot on Mars in my lifetime, it would be an amazing achievement.

    Do you believe that there is life out there other than on earth, and if so do you think they would be like us or something different?

    There are so many stars and planets out there that we’d have to be extremely lucky to be the only planet with life. I like to think life happens a bit more easily than that, given the right circumstances. So yeah I’d say it’s very probable.

    As to what they’d look like, I’d guess that it would be nothing like anything anyone has imagined, evolution has produced such a wide range of different creatures on our own little planet there’s no reason to think it would work the same way on another planet.
