  well, i don’t think so based on our current understand of the laws of physics… BUT the history of science is full of examples where scientists were absolutely sure about something that later turned out to be wrong (look up the history of ether for light waves!) … so maybe we will invent time machines but it would only be if (when?) our understanding of how the universe works changed quite a lot!
