I don’t know about universities but the newspapers usually print yearly guides in most subjects, look them up but don’t get too obsessed with league tables, it doesn’t make as big a difference as it seems. When you’re looking at universities, visit all the places you wish to study at and find out where you’re most comfortable. You’ll do much better if you are happy where you are than if you just picked the highest one in the table. If you want to be a forensic scientist, I have been told it might be an idea to study for a chemistry degree first and then specialise later. I’m no expert but I’ve been told in the past that forensic science companies prefer that to a specialised course.

I agree with Steven that you should go to study where you feel most comfortable… I also agree that doing chemistry first might be a good idea! In my experience doing more general degrees is a good thing because you can *always* specialise but it’s very difficult to specialise… so start big and then narrow in on what you want to do!
