• Question: Why do we need to warm down after long distance track?

      I think that when you do long distance running waste substances build up in your muscles as your muscles use up energy (things like lactic acid)… once you stop running, warming down helps to flush those substances out of your muscles because you keep moving. If you don’t warm down properly, this doesn’t happen and you get stiff and sore muscles the next day…
