• Question: Why is it that no two snowflakes are identical?

      Hi Molly,

      I don’t think there are any 2 objects in the world that are exactly the same! I think you could find 2 snowflakes that look roughly the same, but if you put them under the microscope then they would look ever so slightly different. This is because the water molecules freeze together in slightly different positions.

      Do you not think it’s strange that everyone has different fingerprints? It’s the same idea – we all have fingers that look the same from a distance, but if you look closely then you can see that we are all slightly different =)
